Moon Labs does not collect your name, email or other personal details, and we never sell or share your data. Most of our apps collect nothing at all; Trivia Toast and Read the Room store a little data, described below. We do not use cookies on this website.
Website analytics
This website uses our hosting provider’s privacy-friendly analytics to count page views and see which pages are popular. It does not use cookies, does not collect personal information, and does not track you across other websites. Visitor counts are anonymized and aggregated.
Advertising
Some of our apps display ads served by Google AdMob. Google may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve personalized ads. Moon Labs does not receive or store this data.
To opt out of personalized ads, visit your device settings:
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising → turn off Personalized Ads
- Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization
For details on how Google handles data, see Google’s Privacy Policy.
Trivia Toast
Trivia Toast shows everyone the same question each day and tells you what share of players got it right. To do that, it uses a secure cloud service run by Google:
- An anonymous account. The first time you open the app, it creates a random ID for your device. There is no name, email, phone number or password. The ID is used only to count each player once per day.
- Your answers. The answer you pick for each day’s questions is saved with that anonymous ID and added to the day’s totals, which is where “62% of players got it right” comes from.
- A check that it’s the real app. The app proves it’s genuine before it sends anything, so the totals can’t be faked. This doesn’t involve any personal information.
Like any online service, Google’s servers also see technical details such as your IP address when the app connects; Google handles these as described in its privacy policy.
Your streaks and reminder settings stay on your device. If you use iCloud, your past answers (and so your streaks) are also backed up to your own iCloud account, which Moon Labs can’t see.
Trivia Toast has no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and we never sell or share your data.
Because the account is anonymous, we can’t tell which answers are yours, so we can’t look them up or remove them individually. Deleting the app removes what’s stored on your device; the iCloud backup stays in your iCloud account.
Read the Room
Read the Room is played together, each person on their own phone, so the game is shared through a secure cloud service run by Google:
- An anonymous account. The first time you open the app, it creates a random ID for your device. There is no email, phone number or password.
- The name you type. It’s shown to the other players in your game, so pick whatever you’d like them to see. It doesn’t need to be your real name.
- Your answers. Each answer is shared with the players in your game so it can be read out and guessed. Answers are deleted at the end of each turn.
- Game details. The game code, scores and whose turn it is, so everyone’s phone shows the same game. We clear out old games regularly.
- A check that it’s the real app. The app proves it’s genuine before it sends anything, which keeps games from being tampered with. This doesn’t involve any personal information.
Like any online service, Google’s servers also see technical details such as your IP address when the app connects; Google handles these as described in its privacy policy.
The name you used last is remembered on your device for next time. Read the Room has no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and we never sell or share your data.
Leaving a game removes your name from it. Because the account is anonymous, we can’t look up your games for you, but nothing in them identifies you unless you typed it.
